Olive always had an affinity for hair, ever since she was a little girl getting services done in her grandmother’s salon. Some of her earliest memories are of cutting her barbie dolls hair, as well as her own.
While in grade school and middle school she took every art class available to her; from painting to pottery, with exceptional marks and becoming the teacher’s assistant when there were no more classes available to take.
In her free time during high school while doing concurrent enrollment cosmetology, Olive created an online business selling 3D virtual hair and clothes for avatars in a MMORPG called SecondLife, being the only 16 year old in the game to own virtual property and establishing a trademarked brand.
This business helped build her skills not only as an artist, but also as a professional.
At the age of 21, she became the manager and cake decorator of a local vegan and gluten free bakery; creating beautiful masterpieces with dietary needs in mind. While loving the artistic value of her profession, she needed more and was growing tired of working for someone else’s dream.
Finishing cosmetology was her goal, being a stylist was her dream. Today she uses her skills to help those in the LGBTQ+ community feel confident and proud, specializing in “queer” haircuts and styles she also works with local Drag Talent doing hair and makeup pro bono as well as performing alongside her drag brothers and sisters.
