Posted on Nov 13, 2018 // Stylist's TipsThe Lunatic Fringe Story

Thanksgiving’s coming early this year, which means that your gift-giving, people-schmoozing holiday of choice is closer than you think.  Whatever you celebrate, dress accordingly!  Choose from 2 Holiday Hair tutorials by Sarah Nielsen; they’ll wow the friends and family you haven’t seen in months.  For this globe-trotting Master Stylist, 2018’s holiday season is all about simplicity and accessorizing.

And, what’s the best holiday accessory?  Your hair, of course!

Let’s listen close while Sarah sounds off on two simple styles.  Both are fit for any event, no matter its glam factor.

SIMPLE HALF-BACK BOW

“For longer hair, half-back styles are very on trend right now. I’m seeing more and more half-back styles every day! In this simple style, I’ve started by curling my model’s hair with a 1 1/4 in. Babyliss Pro Curling Iron.  Here are the rest of the steps:

Step One: Take the top half of the hair and split it into two sections, tease the bottom section near the base by holding the hair with good tension.

Step Two: Bring the top section over the tease and smooth. Combine both sections.

Step Three: Secure with a small elastic

Step Four: Make a separation just above the elastic.

Step Five: Bring the pony tail through the top of the separation and pull it through.

Step Six: Pull both sides lightly to add texture.

Step Seven: Add a hair accessory! I chose a black bow to keep it classy but casual.

Step Eight: Finish by adding Oribe Après Beach Wave and Shine Spray to the ends of the hair!

ELEGANT SIDE PART SPARKLE

This second look is sure to add elegance with ease! Like I said, we’re all about keeping it timeless and simple. And side parts are all the talk for all hair lengths! This style can be done on short or long hair.

Before you press play, gather these things:

  1. Elixir Ultime by Kerastase
  2. Babyliss 1 1/4 in. Curling Iron
  3. Comb
  4. Bobby-Pins
  5. Rhinestone Hair Accessory of Choice

I hope these tips help you with your Holiday Styling!”
