Stylist Spotlight: Mckensie Woodbury and the Power of Pigment

Posted on Aug 09, 2017 // Stylist ProfileThe Lunatic Fringe Story

Mckensie Woodbury’s tireless ambition and old-soul wisdom uniquely enhance our southern Utah space. Read on to see how her youthful yet sophisticated energy rejuvenates St. George guests and inspires fellow stylists.
Wise beyond her years, Kensie joined the Heart and Soul family after a brief period spent as a solo artist: “Before LF…I didn’t believe that I needed a ‘team.’  Now that I am here I truly believe teamwork is vital to success.”

And Kensie has big plans for her future. With North American Hairstyling Awards entries dancing in her head and an eye fixed on international education, Woodbury understands the value of supportive and inspiring colleagues in achieving her dreams.

Her talent for cultivating relationships also extends to LF guests: “I feel that I grow as an artist by…creating a unique experience for my guests from start to finish, consultation to blowout, and taking time to make each one feel special.”  Such compassion and dedication to her personal craft stem from Kensie’s lifelong belief in the artistry of styling.

Just as she tries to make each guest’s experience different, Kensie also believes that you never repeat yourself as a stylist.  “Doing hair…is an outlet for me.  I always enjoy doing it, no matter how often or repeatedly it’s done.”

The same goes for color.  Kensie harnesses the transformative power of pigment by tailoring her guests’ experiences to their aesthetic and personal needs, particularly for her female clients: “I hope to instill confidence in women who may be faltering—I am a color specialist and truly believe that the power of color alters mindsets for the better.”  Got a career change coming up?  A big move?  Perhaps you’ve experienced a personal epiphany?  Kensie has a color for that.

When she’s not helping guests recharge with a boost of color + confidence, Kensie rejuvenates her own creativity through travel, reading, and admiring nature.  Indeed, boredom is not an option for this stylist: “if you lack inspiration, go out and find it!”  For Kensie this most often means traveling—when she has the time, that is.  As a wife, mother, and LF stylist with some fiery ambition, Kensie certainly stays busy.

Visit Kensie at Lunatic Fringe in St. George for sage advice, a boost of color-confidence, and, of course, beautiful hair.
