Professional Beauty Association Declares Shawn Trujillo and Angie Katsanevas – Lunatic Fringe Salons - NAHA 2010 Winner in the Salon MBA Category

 Phoenix, AZ (August 6, 2010) – Honoring the top stylists and salon professionals in North America, the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) was pleased to award Shawn Trujillo and Angie Katsanevas – Lunatic Fringe Salon - with the NAHA for their exceptional work in the hair industry in the Salon MBA category.  Acknowledging a total of 13 winners, NAHA is known as the pinnacle of hairstyling competitions in North America, where the very best stylists and leaders in the world of hair and beauty are recognized.

 This year NAHA received over 700 entries from licensed beauty professionals around the continent, but only the best were chosen to be one of the 13 NAHA winners. A select panel of more than 60 industry judges, including Mary Brunetti, Antoinette Beenders, Sally Hershberger, Anthony Morrison and Tabatha Coffey judged the entries through a blind, online judging process. Entries were narrowed down to five finalists per category and one winner in each category was chosen.  NAHA 2010 winners were announced during a star-studded Awards Ceremony on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The evening kicked off with a Red Carpet Reception at 6:30pm followed by the Awards Ceremony at 8:00pm. Guests experienced the exhilaration of the most prestigious hairstyling competition in North America as they were taken on a journey of honoring the dedication and skill of the artists who have inspired this industry. The NAHA 2010 Awards Ceremony also welcomed past NAHA winners back to the stage to inspire and tantalize attendees with special artistic presentations. This explosive evening of star-studded entertainment also featured DJ Roonie G and the Las Vegas Dance Crew – Culture Shock. This year’s honorees included Frederic Holzberger, Hall of Leaders inductee, and Beth Minardi, Lifetime Achievement winner, added to the excitement of the event. Plus, Holly Robinson Peete, co-founder of the HollyRod Foundation, was presented the inaugural PBA Beautiful Humanitarian Award for her continued support to help improve the quality of life of people plagued with devastating life circumstances, is an advocate for consistent and reliable education, outreach and support of families affected by autism and Parkinson’s disease.
