Sadie and Jacque – Jane Iredale Make Up

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Over a year and a half ago, Lunatic Fringe teamed up with Jane Iredale Cosmetics to offer our guests the best in cosmetics, alongside our luxury hair care Take Home products. With the introduction of a new line, comes the necessary need of vast education for our stylists to pass on to our guests. Education in application, benefits of the product, and trends. Working alongside our Jane Iredale representative, Lunatic Fringe held monthly trainings for the stylists, training all stylists on the basics of a make up touch-up (including our men stylists!), and teaching advanced make up application to those stylists who had developed a passion in the art of make up application.

Whether you’re one to do a quick touch up with a little mascara, eye shadow and lip gloss, or enjoy creating a full look from foundation all the way to eyeliner, blush, eye brows and everything in between, make up has been a part of our daily routines and/or special events throughout all history. So what’s changed from history until now? Make up is definitely available to the masses, as opposed to only high-class citizens as it was in the past. Ingredients have made a turn around from having the deadly lead metals causing skin problems, to having high quality mineral ingredients that help the skin retain moisture and even have healing properties. I would even venture to say that application technique has become a bit toned down as well, going from bright, thick make up being used for tribe rituals to being layered on during the Elizabethan days to now being light weight and easily applied and removed, for highlighting our daily features.

Jane Iredale has developed a top-notch cosmetic line, will a fully pure mineral base, free of preservatives and other unnecessary fillers. Simply pure minerals that sooth your skin and keep your skins health at its best. With Jane’s luxury skin care cosmetics and our Lunatic Fringe stylist’s dedication to bringing our guests the best education and application technique trends, we have developed a quick process to get you looking your best in the morning with Jane Iredale. Enjoy these video tutorials featuring our own Sadie Mae Wright and Jacque Stone. All Jane Iredale Products available at Lunatic Fringe Salons. Feel free to call and make  a mini-make over reservation with one our stylists at any location or ask for a complimentry lesson following your already reserved appointment.

Holiday Hair How-To

The holidays have approached us with an abundance of fabulous parties and events where you want to look your best. You may be accustomed to wearing your hair the same way every day. For holiday parties, you may want to try something a little different. After all, the holidays are a special time of year and you want your holiday hairstyle to be special too. Here are some helpful ideas for holiday hairstyles that’ll really set you apart from the crowd:

Classic Chignon with a Twist

A beautiful loose, lightly-braided, tousled chignon, is a more modern take on the formal classic chignon. You’ll want to begin by prepping the hair with a light working spray. To achieve this look, use a 1 inch or larger curling iron and curl the whole head taking no more than 2 inch sections. Braid some skinny braids off your hair parting and then loosely gather all the hair (including the braids) together at the nape into a low ponytail. Loop the ends until the pony coils back onto itself and pin, into a chignon.

Finish the hairstyle using a light spray with a firm hold that won’t weigh the hair down. The spray provides airy texture to the finished look and keeps it holding all night. The perfect classic up do!
